A new Granit office complex will be built on Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße in Graz by 2026. The construction company will spend more than 60 million euros on this.

The property is almost 6,000 square meters in size and is in the immediate vicinity of the Merkur Arena. Currently, next to a gas station, which is to be integrated into the new building, there is the former inn “Zur Endstation” – this will give way to the project.
“It was important to me that the gas station was preserved because it is the last one before the motorway,” says entrepreneur Rudi Roth, who is not only the boss of the gas station, but is also involved in the new project.
International architecture competition in advance
The architecture of the Graz Hohensinn ZT GmbH emerged as the winner of an international architectural competition. In addition to her, there were 81 other designs.

According to the broadcast, Granit’s managing director, Günther Lederhaas, attaches great importance to the fact that all people who will do their job in the building in the future enjoy going to work. The complex will only have offices. It is certain that ten percent of the area will be made available to the headquarters of Tank Roth, but according to Lederhaas other companies are already known to be settling there.
Conservatories and greening planned
Urban planning manager Bernhard Inninger classifies the planned building as a “key point” on the development axis between the town hall and the stadium. It will have a gross floor area of 14,600 square meters and six upper floors. The office complex has an elongated shape along the street and will contain cuts on several floors to be landscaped; conservatories are also planned.
The new building, which is to be erected from autumn 2024, should not remain Granit’s only construction project in Graz: Lederhaas is also planning to increase the tower at the stadium, which also belongs to the construction company.
