The actor’s lawyer, Kevin Spacey, said that three of the four individuals who have accused him of sexual assault are “liars”.
Lawyer Patrick Gibbs told jurors Thursday at the trial in London that the testimony against Spacey relied on “fantasies and delusions”.
Gibbs asked jurors not to convict Spacey of a “false account” of the fourth man.
The 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor has pleaded not guilty to charges including sexual assault and indecent assault.
Spacey said he had consensual relations with two men, while the third man fabricated his allegations.
The prosecutor in the case said Spacey was a sexual bully and predator whose trademark was to attract men by their sexual parts.
The charges against him include repeated incidents of indecent assault and sexual assault.
He is also charged with the more serious charge of forcing a person to have full sex, for which he could face life in prison.
In January, Spacey pleaded not guilty to seven other counts of sexual offenses and denied a number of alleged sexual assaults against one man from 2001 to 2004.
Controversy arose about Spacey for the first time in October 2017, when actor Anthony Rapp accused him of trying to seduce him in 1986, when he was 14 years old.
And the “Netflix” platform removed Spacey from starring in the movie “House of Cards” in November 2017, as allegations of sexual assault and misconduct against the actor increased.
