BRATISLAVA – Slovak footballer Juraj Kucka from Slovan Bratislava received a two-game suspension for biting Neg Ekof during the opening match of the 1st preliminary round of the Champions League against Luxembourg’s FC Swift Hesper (1:1).

The thirty-six-year-old midfielder will not help the team even in the first meeting of the second preliminary round in Mostar. The club informed about it on the official website.

In the added time of the first half, Kucka bit the guest Ekof on the ground, for which he saw a red card from the main referee Viktor Kopijevski. The Slovak representative has already completed the first part of the punishment, when he did not play in the rematch on the Hesper field, which Slovan won 2:0 and secured promotion.

The club was also fined for trespassing an individual onto the playing field after the end of the match and also for throwing plastic cups onto the playing field. However, “Belasí” did not specify the amount of the financial sanction. Thus, Slovan will not have a limited audience capacity for the home meeting with Mostar.

“On our part, we will do our best to ensure that an individual running into the playing field does not happen again. At the same time, we want to call on and ask everyone to refrain from throwing any objects on the playing field in the future. Any repetition of these offenses will result in further and more serious disciplinary sanctions . We want you to be our twelfth player again,” said the club.
