Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Captain Christian Günter traveled to the training camp after his injury with Bundesliga club SC Freiburg. The 30-year-old, who broke his right forearm in the first preparatory game against GC Zurich (6-1) last Saturday and underwent surgery, trains individually in Schruns in the Montafon. Newcomer Junior Adamu (RB Salzburg), who has problems with the tip of the patella, and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh after his cruciate ligament tear in February also do the same.
In addition to the national players, who returned to SC Freiburg on Tuesday, the U21 national players are also traveling to the Breisgau training camp. The sports club is preparing for the coming season in Schruns for the 17th time in a row. Only Noah Weißhaupt is missing, who had to have a burst eardrum operated on during the summer break and is therefore on longer vacation. He is expected at the training camp on Monday.
The Freiburg internationals, who started training late because of the international matches, are fully in training: Matthias Ginter, Ritsu Doan, Roland Sallai, Michael Gregoritsch and Philipp Lienhart. In the only test match during the training camp, the Sport-Club meets Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday (2:00 p.m.) in Zams (Tyrol). A playing time of three times 45 minutes is planned.
