Attempted homicide in Hialeah

Last week there was news of a case in which two Cuban santeros beat each other up in a motel in the city. That discussion ended badly when one of them, identified as 22-year-old Kevin Ravelo, pulled out a firearm and shot the other person.

According to the local press, the victim ended up with a gunshot wound to the arm, while Ravelo was found in the vicinity of the motel and was detained without incident.

When questioned, the young man stated that he ended up on the ground after being hit, and that he used his weapon to defend himself after the other person continued to attack him.

Witnesses to the incident confirmed that Ravelo ended up on the ground after being punched, however, they pointed out that the other individual began to leave the place, turning his back on the young man before he pulled out a firearm and began shooting.

Ravelo’s version was also denied by the motel’s security cameras, for which the young man faces charges of attempted murder.
