For more than 10 years, Naâman has been one of the most popular figures on the French reggae scene. Proof of this is that he continues to fill the biggest Zéniths in France and is one of the most scheduled artists in festivals each year. But what the general public probably doesn’t know is that Naaman is battling illness. Indeed, the Norman singer, whose real name is Martin Mussard, announced in the spring of 2022 that he had a brain tumor. The then 32-year-old artist had canceled his tour to be able to have surgery. “I am having surgery on April 5 at 7:30 am to try to remove 90% of this famous brain tumor that we have been talking about for a few months” he explained on his Instagram account: “My vision will be impacted. I will have to do rehabilitation for at least three months. I will relearn everything and give everything to be on stage in the fall”.

“Come celebrate life with us”
Two days after the operation, Naâman reassured his fans by posting a video of him playing the guitar, to show that he was fine. Since then, the singer has returned to the stage. Except that a few days ago, he posted a disturbing message on the networks. The “Outta Road” singer said he may be quitting gigs soon due to his health. “After this tour, I don’t know if and when I’ll be back on stage. I have been on chemotherapy for a few months, and I go on stage every night with all my strength and my love, full of gratitude for each of you present by my side” he wrote on his Instagram account: “He I have a few festivals and concerts left this summer. Come celebrate life with us”.
A worrying message that prompted no less than 1,500 Internet users to send him messages of support, including Oli (from Bigflo & Oli) or Danakil. Despite this announcement, Naâman nevertheless continues his tour. He will be at the Summer Vibration Festival and World Festival Ambert this weekend, before continuing his summer tour and performing in concert in Bordeaux, Montpellier and Toulouse from September 21 to 23.
