The Exclusive Koenigsegg CCGT: Norway’s Most Expensive Car Sold at Auction

(Broom) There is only one copy in the world. And it is Bård Eker, the Fredrikstad man behind the boat manufacturer Hydrolift, who has owned the car in Norway until now.

We are talking about the super exclusive Koenigsegg CCGT. A car developed for track driving – and exclusively that.

After 15 years in Norway, Eker’s CCGT has now been sold at an auction during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England last weekend.

It is Finansavisen Motor which first mentioned sales in Norway.

Over DKK 40 million

The history of the Koenigsegg CCGT is quite special – which also reflects today’s price.

Eker’s super sports car was sold for 3.319 million pounds – which is equivalent to around NOK 43.5 million.

This makes it, according to Broom’s experience, Norway’s most expensive car ever sold.

The car also exceeds the price of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, by a good margin. The latter was bought by tech entrepreneur Fredrik Halvorsen last year for NOK 33.5 million.

The buyer of the Ekers Koenigsegg CCGT is an anonymous car collector from New Jersey in the USA.

Track monster

The car is a 2008 model, which Bård Eker himself has been involved in developing.

Koenigsegg’s goal was to build a full-fledged track car for the top GT1 racing class. In other words, the same league in which the legendary Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and McLaren F1 GTR have competed.

Due to changed rules for the GT1 class, the prestigious project was terminated and there is thus only one example in the world.

The CCGT is equipped with a 5-liter V8 engine, which is limited to 600 horsepower.
