The lavish wedding of two Alaskan Malamute dogs with a cost of up to hundreds of millions of rupiah suddenly caused a stir in the community.
The two dogs, named Jojo and Luna, married the mall in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, North Jakarta.

However, who would have thought, the marriage of the two dogs wearing Javanese traditional clothes caused controversy.
The reason is, this is considered by some people to have demeaned Javanese customs.
Valentine Cahandra (Valen) and Indira Ratnasari (Nena) as owners of Jojo and Luna also received subpoenas because of this.
Valen and Nena finally apologized and admitted that initially they only planned to celebrate the birthdays of their two pet dogs.
The concept of the birthday celebration is indeed similar to a cultural parade which presents a number of guests in traditional clothes from various regions in the archipelago.
“We apologize for the uproar in the community, we apologize to Javanese culturalists and the public, there is not the slightest intention from us to insult (Javanese customs), we promise not to repeat it again,” said Valen and Nena in the South Jakarta area, on Wednesday (19/7).
“This is actually a birthday, I just want to hold it like a wedding, Valen and I are old friends, there is absolutely no intention of abusing it. We are more into a cultural parade, an archipelago theme, there are all kinds of traditional clothes, like the Kartinian cultural parade, the difference is on the Jojo and Luna show, but maybe our way is wrong,” they continued.
Valen and Nena had absolutely no intention of insulting Javanese customs. In fact, Valen and Nena turned out to be Javanese who were born in Yogyakarta.
Initially, Valen and Nena actually intended to preserve Javanese culture with a funny event celebrating their dog’s birthday.

Valen and Nena did not expect that this was wrong and instead reaped insults from some people.
“There is no intention of insulting or disrespecting Javanese culture, I am Javanese and born in Jogja, in fact with this I want to preserve Javanese customs, but we really apologize to the people, maybe the method is not right for us to preserve Javanese culture,” said Valen and Nena.
Now, Valen and Nena admit that they are sorry and apologize after a subpoena appeared regarding the traditional Javanese clothes worn by their two dogs.
“The lesson is that there is a subpoena, we can realize and really apologize,” concluded Valen and Nena.
