Often, the symptoms begin in the teenage years and, if it is not discovered and treated in time, the disease can lead to serious complications, such as infertility or even cancer.
Polycystic ovary syndrome represents the totality of clinical and paraclinical changes, determined by a pathological condition of the ovaries, which interferes with the normal reproductive function of a woman and has an impact on the whole body.
Until now, the exact cause could not be fully elucidated. However, several risk factors can be listed that increase a woman’s likelihood of developing this condition. Among the risk factors we can list: family history, excess insulin caused by tissue resistance to it or chronic inflammation
Before knowing that they suffer from this syndrome, women present to the doctor with menstrual cycle disorders, acne or excessive growth of body hair with a male-specific distribution on the body. There are also certain diseases favored by polycystic ovary syndrome.
