Mirpur: The Indian women’s cricket team responded to the defeat in the first ODI against Bangladesh with a big win in the second match. India defeated Bangladesh by 108 runs yesterday and leveled the three-match series at 1-1. The third match will be held on Friday.
Jemima Rodriguez, who scored 86 runs from 78 balls and took four wickets, helped India win the match. After losing the toss and batting first, India scored 228 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs and bowled out Bangladesh for just 120 runs in 35.1 overs. Jemima took four wickets conceding just three runs in 3.1 overs. Devika Vaidya took three wickets. Fargana Hoque (47), Ritu Moni (27) and Murshida Khatun (12) were the only ones to see double figures in the Bangladesh line-up. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (52 off 88 balls) along with Jemima in the batting for India. Smriti Manthana (36) and Harleen Deol (25) also performed well.
India lost by 40 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis rule in the first match which was interrupted by rain.
