movie ‘Come on Barbie, let’s go party!’ On Tuesday evening, the Belgian premiere of the long-awaited ‘Barbie’ film took place at White Cinema Docks in Brussels. Without protagonists Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, but with a lot of well-known and beautiful people from here. Dressed in – how could it be otherwise – a glamorous pink outfit, they dived into the cheerful (and very pink) world of Barbie and Ken. And guess what? ‘Life in plastic, it’s fantastic!’.

The live action movie ‘Barbie’ follows one of the dolls who lives in Barbieland. When she’s not perfect enough, she embarks on an adventure into the real world – where she discovers that perfection can only come from within. Actress Margot Robbie plays Barbie, while Ryan Gosling plays Ken.
Princess Delphine turns out to be a big fan of this iconic toy doll. Together with daughter Joséphine, she took place in the pink Cadillac from the film for a ‘royal’ ride. Husband James watched from the sidelines.
“As a child I had lots of Barbie dolls and I created my own fantasy world,” says Julie Vermeire.
For Jennifer Heylen, Barbie is pure nostalgia. She came to watch with good friend Michèle.
‘Blindly married’ participant Candice Martens has not yet met her ‘Ken’, even though her ex-husband Marijn now has a new love. “He told me beforehand because we are still friends. I see that he is very happy and that makes me happy too.
“I used to cut the hair of my Barbie dolls so that they were completely bald,” soprano Astrid Stockman tells us.
Miss Belgium Emilie Vansteenkiste could of course not be missed at this pink premiere. “If they ever look for a Flemish Barbie, I want to dye my hair pink.”
“I admit it: I used to secretly play with these dolls,” says Nick Laenen of Blind Marriage. “Luckily, it’s no longer taboo for boys to like Barbie these days.”
“Despite my first name, I have nothing against pink or Barbie, but I am a big fan of Margot Robbie,” says Studio Brussels DJ Roos Van Acker.
‘K2 seeks K3’ finalist Amy Courtens brought her own ‘Ken’: Aaron. The couple split up to focus on themselves and their careers, but are now back together and happier than ever.
Dorian Liveyns, James Cooke’s husband, was out with colleagues Helle Vanderheyden, Charlotte Verduyn and Wout Verstappen. “We hope it will be a very funny movie.”
“I’ve never played with Barbie, but I love the hype that’s out there now,” says Tatyana Beloy alongside good friend Rosane.
“I still regularly watch old Barbie movies with my girlfriends,” says #LikeMe actress Joey Kwan.
‘Barbie’ can be seen in cinemas from July 19.
