The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is visiting Doha as part of his Gulf tour, at Lusail Palace.
The two leaders held a bilateral summit that dealt with a number of important files, topped by the bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields.
Sheikh Tamim confirmed that he discussed with his brother Erdogan the various challenges facing the region and the world.
He said in a tweet on Twitter, “I was pleased to host my dear brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Doha, where we meet within the framework of providing our economic cooperation with more opportunities and promising prospects, in a way that achieves the common interests of our two brotherly peoples.”
The Emir of Qatar and the Turkish President witnessed the signing of the joint statement between Qatar and Turkey on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Qatari-Turkish diplomatic relations.

The two sides also confirmed their commitment to work together to enhance their position on the global economic map, and agreed to intensify the work of their joint technical teams to identify mutually beneficial investment opportunities, especially in the fields of export financing, tourism, clean energy and other areas of common interest.
It is scheduled that the Supreme Strategic Committee between the two countries will hold its meeting to discuss important issues and areas of joint cooperation, and the Turkish-Qatari Business Council will hold a meeting to discuss investment opportunities between the two countries.
Erdogan’s gift
During the talks, Erdogan presented a gift to Sheikh Tamim, a Turkish-made “Tog” car, as an expression of pride in the close strategic relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The Emir of Qatar listened to a briefing on the specifications of the Turkish electric car and its environmental friendliness, in addition to the Turkish industrial projects in the field of cars and transportation.
The prince expressed his thanks to Erdogan for this gift, wishing Turkish industrial projects a prosperous future in the region and the world.

The Turkish president arrived earlier this evening, Tuesday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, on an official visit from Saudi Arabia.
The Turkish President’s plane landed at Hamad International Airport, and he was received by Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Qatar, Qatar’s Ambassador to Turkey Sheikh Muhammad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, and the Turkish Ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Mustafa Kokso.
