The jobs of thousands of programmers working in India could be replaced by artificial intelligence within two to three years, predicts Stability AI CEO Emad Mostake. This was commented by the editor Elena Kirilova on the air of the program “Business Start”.
Most of the country’s outsourced programmers will lose their jobs as a result of artificial intelligence, and this means that software will now be able to be developed with far fewer people.
“I think it affects different types of jobs in different ways,” he told analysts at the Swiss investment bank last week. However, according to Mostake, not everyone will be affected in the same way.
This is largely due to the different rules and regulations around the world. Countries with stricter labor laws, such as France, will be less likely to have such an impact, for example.
Moustaque commented that in India “outsourced developers up to level three will disappear in the next two or three years, while in France you will never fire a developer”.
There are more than 5 million software developers in India who are most at risk from the impact of advanced artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT, according to information from Bloomberg.
Asia’s second-largest country is a prime location for companies that outsource back-office jobs and other positions overseas. Silicon Valley tech giants, Wall Street banks, airlines and retailers are all clients of Indian outsourcing firms.
