PDIP politician Budiman Sudjatmiko visited the residence of the chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto in Kertanegara, South Jakarta. After the visit, Budiman said that he had previously confronted Prabowo.
“I appreciate and feel that Pak Prabowo represents a perspective of political leadership that suits me in the sense of a nation that wants to rise in the midst of turbulence,” said Budiman in a press conference at Prabowo’s residence, Tuesday (18/7/2023).
Budiman said two figures with activist and military backgrounds are usually able to talk about strategic matters in a comprehensive manner. He spoke of the highest risk of sacrifice between activists and former soldiers.
“I am a former activist, Pak Prabowo is a former elite soldier, we have faced each other before… he-he-he. But even though we were in different positions, we risked our lives, honor, goals,” said Budiman.
“When now the situation is better for the nation, grow with each other, talk about differences, then we remember the past as the past, the future is not for us but for the nation,” he continued.
On the same occasion, Prabowo added to Budiman’s statement. He said that he had previously confronted Budiman Sudjatmiko because of a circumstance that was not his personal wish.
“I just refined it a little. We have indeed faced each other before, but what was for us was a situation, a condition, a system,” said Prabowo.
“That the circumstances and situation made us face each other at that time, not because we wanted to face each other, the situation made it that way. But, thank God, with time, we also met before, before Mas Budiman left for England. We will meet again after several years, and we are still The talk is in the interests of the nation and the people,” he added.
For information, Budiman Sudjatmiko visited Prabowo’s residence for discussion. Budiman said his arrival was not related to the party, the meeting inside lasted for 2 hours.
