Confirmation: Modern Warfare 3 Release Rumor with Copyright Claim from Activision

This year’s Call of Duty game will most likely be Modern Warfare 3. That rumor has been doing the rounds for a while, but now seems to have been confirmed by a copyright claim from Activision.

Twitter user BobNetworkUK shares images of a warning he received from Twitter. He allegedly shared footage of an “unreleased game called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.”

It is not clear which images are involved exactly. Presumably, however, it is footage from the first alpha version of the game.

Rumors have been circulating about Modern Warfare 3 for months, so it seems only a matter of time before the official announcement follows. For example, the development would be in the hands of Sledgehammer Games and Terminal and Scrapyard from the original Modern Warfare 2 would be included in the game.

Activision has not succeeded in stopping the rumor mill for the time being, because last week it was also announced that a new Call of Duty: Black Ops will probably be released in 2024.
