Extreme Heat Warnings in 10 US States Spark Concerns for Public Health

At least 10 US states are under extreme heat warnings. due to the high temperatures that affect the country this week, particularly the southwestern zone.

The National Weather Service (NWS) warned that Extreme heat is the weather cause that causes the most deaths in the United States.

The outlook is particularly dangerous for those without access to water and shade.the office stressed.

The NWS tweeted: “Between Saturday and Sunday, forecasts point to 45 record high temperatures. Don’t underestimate the impact of heat. Heat is the main cause of weather-related samples most years,” the entity insisted.

The agency also located the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, most of Texas, southern New Mexico and eastern Oklahoma under advisories.

The forecast indicates that tomorrow, Sunday, will be the most intense day of the week in terms of heat indexes for much of the region.

At least 113 million Americans remain under Extreme Weather Advisories Expanding As Far East In Florida.

About, 27 million of these people will experience temperatures exceeding 110°F.

The heat wave is the result of a high pressure peak. These systems usually cause warmer temperatures. According to the NWS, this weekend’s storm is one of the strongest of its kind on record in the region.

“The subtropical ridge responsible for this unusual historic heat wave shows no sign of leaving the area anytime soon,” the Service added.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the estimated number of people who die each year in the US as a result of high temperatures is 700.
