The Brazilian women’s team had a drop on the eve of the World Cup.
What happened
Striker Nycole Raysla is ruled out of the Cup after suffering a sprained ankle during a training game. It would be the first World Cup disputed by the 23-year-old athlete.
As there is no time to recover, Nycole will be replaced by Angelina. The OL Reign player was already training with the substitutes called up by Pia Sundhage.
The CBF made the announcement through the official website this Tuesday (18th) and wished Nycole strength. “The coaching staff regrets Nycole’s injury and wishes her a speedy recovery,” it reads.
The team follows the training period in Gold Coast, Australia, before the World Cup debut, which takes place on the 24th against Panama.
