Russian Federation’s Withdrawal from Grain Deal Marks New Stage in Russian-Ukrainian Crisis

The withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the grain deal indicates that the country is no longer ready to seek compromises with Ukraine and is entering a new stage in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. This was stated by Andrey Suzdaltsev, Associate Professor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at the Higher School of Economics.

“Probably, we have left the stage when we are trying to negotiate with someone. All our problems that we have will be solved when we achieve a decisive victory on the battlefield,” Suzdaltsev told RIA Novosti. He noted that Moscow’s decision to withdraw from the grain deal indicates a new stage in the development of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. Suzdaltsev added that the West and Ukraine are used to the fact that Russia is trying to negotiate, but the country is not waging a war, but a special operation, where it tries to solve problems with the least losses.

Earlier, the Kremlin announced termination grain deal. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federation will return to the deal as soon as the previously agreed conditions are met. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine will fulfill its part of the obligations of the grain deal without Russia.National News Service».
