Navis Sajan Mathew: A Heartwarming Cake and Life-Giving Gifts

Kochi ∙ That piece of cake was too sweet. A cake with a picture of a heart held together by both hands. Basavana cut the gowda cake with Navis hands. Those who gave their lives to Nevis shared that sweetness together; and Nevis’s father Sajan Mathew, mother Sherin Anne and siblings Elvis and Vismaya.

Yesterday was the 27th birthday of Navis Sajan Mathew, a native of Kottayam Vadavathur. Second birthday without Navis. Nevis died on September 25, 2021 after falling unconscious due to low blood sugar levels. Navis has given life to 7 people through organ donation.

Among them, Basavana Gowda, a native of Bellary, Karnataka, who received a hand transplant, and K., a native of Kannur, who received a heart transplant. Premchand, Vinod from Nilambur who received a liver transplant, Benny from Thrissur who received a kidney transplant and Leelamma from Kottayam who received a cataract transplant gathered at Amrita Hospital in Kochi with the memories of Navis.

English Summary: Cake given by the hands of departed son Navis Sajan Mathew; memories for Sherin Annie Sajan and Sajan Mathew
