The executive secretary of Siprosa, Dr. Miguel Ferre Contreras, representing the head of the health portfolio, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, accompanied by members of the cabinet, hospital directors and representatives of the Provincial Health System, chaired today the meeting to assess the reality epidemiological study of the province and propose guidelines to follow.
On the occasion, Ferre Contreras indicated that the meeting had two parts. In the first, they talked about the epidemiological indicators and how the different pathologies are behaving in the province. “At this time of year, what is most relevant are the data on respiratory diseases and we saw that the peak of bronchiolitis already occurred in the province seven weeks ago, so we are in a gradual decline,” the official remarked, stressing that this is the result of an intense work that was carried out.
Regarding the influenza A virus, he stated that its circulation in South America is increasing. Cohabitants of oncohematological patients, people with chronic renal failure on dialysis or with expectations of entering dialysis in the following six months, severe developmental delay in children under 18 years of age, chronic treatment with acetylsalicylic acid in children under 18 years of age, genetic syndromes, neuromuscular diseases with respiratory compromise and severe congenital malformations, cohabitants of premature infants weighing less than 1,500 grams, among others.
