Pirelli Unveils P Zero E: High-Performance Tire for Electric Cars and PHEVs with RunForward Technology

Pirelli presents at the Goodwood Festival of Speed the P Zero E, a high-performance tire specially designed for electric cars and PHEVs. In addition, it has RunForward technology that allows you to continue driving in the event of a puncture.

Pirelli’s new high-performance electric car tire is called P Zero E.

The Pirelli P Zero E has been built with more than 55% recycled and natural materials. It also has the triple A energy label, being the only tire in its class to have this certification.

Pirelli introduced the P Zero E alongside the P Zero Trofeo R and P Zero Trofeo RS.

This tire has the Elect marking that identifies it as having been conceived using technologies that Pirelli has specifically designed to adapt to the specific needs of the latest generation electrified vehicles.

Electric vehicles have an immediate torque response, are heavier and, in addition, the noise derived from rolling is perceived in the passenger compartment. The P Zero E seeks to perform at the highest level, always keeping in mind in all these circumstances.

The P Zero E was unveiled last weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

RunForward technology allows you to keep driving even when you’ve had a flat tire. Pirelli announces that up to 40 kilometers can be covered circulating at 80 km/h when the pressure of the P Zero E is zero bars. Specific structural reinforcements allow it to offer this performance in an emergency.

It must be borne in mind that many electric or plug-in hybrid cars do not mount a spare wheel due to the large space occupied by the batteries. Hence, this tire for this type of vehicle has RunForward technology.

More than 55% of the P Zero E has been created with natural or recycled materials.

Pirelli has announced that the P Zero E will initially be available with 17 sizes and will hit the market in the second half of this year, 2023. Right now, specific developments are being finalized as the first team of numerous electric and plug-in hybrid models that will arrive in the coming months.
