Thousands of students canceled for fraud in West Java’s 2023 New Student Admissions

Jakarta

Provincial government West Java took firm steps regarding the finding of fraud in the 2023 New Student Admissions (PPDB) process. Thousands of prospective students were canceled because they tried to trick their domicile addresses.

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said that at least 4,791 students had their participation canceled in PPDB West Java 2023. The cancellation was due to findings of fraud such as data falsification.

“We have canceled 4,791 prospective students who are trying to trick their domicile,” Ridwan Kamil said after reviewing the first day of the introduction to the school environment (MPLS) at SMKN 12 Bandung, reported detikjabarMonday (17/7/2023).

Ridwan Kamil emphasized that this step was taken to provide a deterrent effect and a warning that in implementing PPDB, it must run and be carried out according to the rules.

“About that much that has been canceled to teach a lesson that everything must be according to the rules. West Java, God willing, here (SMKN 12 Bandung) is in accordance with the selection,” he said.

“PPDB has been completed which is in the process of heading to today, that number has been cancelled,” he added.
