Caroline Goldman: The Opposition to “Positive Education”

(1/3) Podcast, forums, books and now a daily column on France Inter: Caroline Goldman has become in a few months the figure of the opposition to “positive education”. To the great regret of researchers, who deplore the “confusion” it maintains.

“At a time when everyone can give their opinion and hijack scientific data, [elle] wishes to take psychology out of research laboratories.” Since July 1, child psychologist Caroline Goldman has taken the France Inter microphone every morning for a summer chronicle. The goal? “Advice for parents to help their children flourish, and share ideas to answer their big questions, through the illuminating prism of psychoanalysis…”

For the past few months, the eldest daughter of singer Jean-Jacques Goldman has emerged as a media figure. Or rather a counter-figure, since she sets herself up in opposition to Isabelle Filliozat, a psychotherapist who imported (in her own way) positive education methods born in the United States.

According to his grand declarations in the media, which offer him generally favorable coverage, like her carte blanche on Inter, this doctor of child psychology offers a position that seems measured and balanced. As a preamble to her remarks, she
