The police have arrested five people, including her boyfriend and friend, who molested a seventeen-year-old schoolgirl in Adoor. The girl’s boyfriend, Sumesh (19), a resident of Pattazhi, Kollam, Shakti (18), Shakti’s friends Anup (22), Abhijit (20), and Arvind (22), who live in Alappuzha Nooranad, were arrested. Four cases have been registered against them, including the POCSO department. The victim was a girl from Adoor. The information came out during the counseling conducted by Pathanamthitta Child Welfare Committee. They informed the police. The police said that the incident started last December. Medical examination revealed that the girl had been brutally sexually assaulted. A special team was formed under the supervision of Adoor DySP R Jayaraj and headed by Adoor Police Inspector S Sreekumar.
