Defender Harry Maguire is no longer Manchester United captain. The tape was taken away by manager Erik ten Hag. The English representative announced this on Twitter.
“The manager informed me today that he is changing the captain. He explained the reasons, and although I am very disappointed, I can assure everyone that I will always give my best on the pitch,” said the 2021 European vice-champion.
Thirty-year-old Maguire was United’s captain for three and a half years, but after the arrival of Ten Haga to the team last May, he gradually fell out of the lineup. Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes should take over from the former Sheffield United or Leicester player.
