This is how Defense Minister Todor Tagarev commented on President Rumen Radev’s words that “Ukraine insists on waging this war” before NOVA.

The minister emphasized that Bulgaria’s position on Ukraine is no different from that of our allies. “For those who think that someone over there has pressured the Bulgarian delegation and it has changed its mind – the government’s website opens and there you can see the decision of the Council of Ministers, which adopts the national position”, he explained.
“In Vilnius during the NATO Summit, the atmosphere was incredible. Every 200-300 meters there are Ukrainian and Lithuanian flags. People are happy. Bulgaria does not look like that. And this is a serious success of the Kremlin’s policy towards our country and of the propaganda that the Kremlin leads. It is supported by significant public groups, parties and to some extent by the presidential institution“he added.

“In Bulgaria, several structures of the command and control system are planned. The most significant of these is the establishment of a multinational divisional headquarters for a land division. This is a serious effort that we have to make”, the minister pointed out after the NATO Summit.
Tagarev commented on the project for general procurement of ammunition. “Bulgaria is included in this format because it will be a minimum of 8 years. We currently do not have artillery of this caliber and missile systems for salvo fire, but we plan to purchase”the minister specified.
