Shame?

This didn’t really happen, did it? I took a shopping bag from the closet, put on a plastic glove and picked up my garbage. To make matters worse, dozens of people walked by and saw what I was doing and what I was holding between two fingers. My neighbors also just came out the door and saw me pick up the sperm-filled condom. What. A. Hell.

I picked up the rest of the garbage as fast as I could and ran off. Well, what do you do in such a situation except say hello, smile sweetly and stare at your feet out of shame?

Though I wanted to break down for the rest of the day thinking about this awkward situation, I wondered what exactly I was embarrassed about. Everyone has garbage, everyone has sex.
