The Killing of Jordanian Student Iman Irsheed: Clan Reconciliation and Updates

The most prominent issue that shook Jordan and occupied Jordanian public opinion, represented by the killing of the Jordanian student Iman Irsheed on campus, which was similar to the killing of the Egyptian student Naira Ashraf, has returned to the fore again, after a post by her father on the “Facebook” platform.

It is scheduled that next Friday, corresponding to July 21, will be the date for the clan reconciliation process related to the killing of the Jordanian student, Iman Mufid Irsheed Al-Miqdad, according to what her father revealed.

In a post on Facebook, Irsheed said that the tribal reconciliation will take place at 6:00 pm in the southern Marka district of the capital, Amman, near the Queen Rania Center.

A crime that shook Jordan

Iman Irsheed (21 years old), a nursing student at the Applied Science Private University, was shot (5 bullets) inside the university campus, and the shooter fled.

A statement by the Jordanian Public Security Directorate at the time stated that the girl “was taken to the hospital in a bad condition, and that the killer fled and investigations were launched to determine his identity and arrest him.” Later, the girl died of her injuries.

A spokesman for the Security Directorate had said that the killer had been identified, and that he “planned his crime and tried as much as possible to hide his identity and his impact through misleading methods.”

He added, “His house and several locations were raided, and he was not found there, and the search for him is still ongoing.”

A few days later, General Security in Jordan announced the location of the young woman’s killer in a private university, explaining that when he was surrounded by security men, he shot himself.

A security source told Sky News Arabia at the time that the killer died of his injury.
