The Bogotá Ministry of Health assured that it is essential that the city guarantee the anti-rabies vaccine for dogs and cats as a primary strategy for the prevention of rabies. In this sense, from the entity they expect that around 405 thousand canines and cats will be vaccinated so far in 2023.

With the aim of reaching this goal and protecting Bogotanos and their pets, the Ministry of Health delivered 80,000 doses of this vaccine to the District, which immediately set up 26 fixed free care points, which began operating from the past July 13.

“In Colombia, the purchase of vaccines is an exclusive responsibility of the Government. We are pleased to announce the receipt of doses of rabies vaccine for veterinary use. To catch up with the dogs and cats in our homes”, wrote the Secretary of Health of Bogotá, Alejandro Gómez.
