The new model accelerates from zero to one hundred in 3.4 seconds
You can recognize it from the standard version thanks to specific colors and some design accessories
Thanks to fast charging, you can recharge the battery in just 18 minutes
At the end of last week, the traditional festival of speed took place in Goodwood, and even this year this event was not without interesting automotive news. You have probably already seen the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with its typical features. But now the Korean manufacturer has revealed a sharp version called Ioniq 5 N.
It impresses with its unusual eight-speed virtual gearbox, which brings the electric car closer to classic combustion sports cars. Together, the pair of engines will offer an astonishing output of 478 kW. In this case, acceleration from zero to one hundred takes place in 3.4 seconds, and there are also artificial engine sounds, which once again bring the novelty experience closer to internal combustion cars. The virtual gearbox is automatic, but you can also choose manual mode and shift paddles under the steering wheel.

Compared to the standard version of the Ioniq 5, the novelty also differs in its appearance. The front bumper is more massive and at the same time holds more air for cooling. You can see the “N” logo at the right headlight and you can recognize the car at first sight mainly thanks to the combination of blue color with elements in the shade of “luminous orange”. The large 21″ alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires are also eye-catching.
The Ioniq 5 N supports fast 350kW charging and, according to the manufacturer, charges from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. So far, however, we are still not talking about the newly revealed IMA platform, which some other models will receive. The batteries have a capacity of 84 kWh.
Virtual transmission as a new trend in electric cars?
Although the acceleration of electric cars is addictive, manufacturers are gradually realizing that the classic experience of shifting individual gears is missing in sports cars in this segment. The so-called for example, Ford already implements virtual transmissions in its Mustang and Jeep in the Magneto concept. Toyota is also said to be working on a similar system to that of the Ioniq 5.
