Natural Disaster Claims 22 Lives, Leaves 10 Missing: Impacts, Causes, and Future Predictions

In the natural disaster, 22 people died, nine were injured, and ten people were missing. Sixteen fatal cases were registered in the northern part of the country, which was heavily affected by landslides. Two more people lost their lives in the city of Nonsan, where a building collapsed due to landslides.

Due to the floods, more than a thousand people were forced to evacuate their homes, while the electricity supply was cut off in approximately 8,300 homes.

Scientists have already warned that due to human-made climate change, heavy rains and floods will increase the frequency of severe weather and heavy rains in East Asia.
