Israeli television broadcast a clip of Netanyahu in the hospital, smiling and asking people to drink plenty of water during the heat wave.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to hospital, Saturday, after suffering a sudden illness.

Netanyahu’s office confirmed that he is at Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv, and that he is in good condition and is undergoing evaluation.

Netanyahu’s doctor told the Israeli Channel 12 that “the prime minister’s condition is stable,” noting that he is undergoing tests.

And local media indicated that the prime minister “was fully aware while he was on the way from his residence in the coastal city of Caesarea to the hospital.”

Channel 12 said that Netanyahu complained of chest pain before he was taken to the hospital, but it denied drugging him or transferring power to another official.

In October last year, Netanyahu also suffered a health problem while performing the end of Yom Kippur prayers in the synagogue, and he remained in the hospital under medical observation for some time.

Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital said in a statement that Netanyahu, then leader of the opposition, “arrived to the medical center after he was not feeling well at the end of the Yom Kippur fast.”

He added that Netanyahu “underwent an evaluation and a series of comprehensive examinations, all of which were normal,” stressing that “he is fine, and after consultation, it was decided to spend the night for observation.”

People close to Netanyahu told the Hebrew newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, that he was “fasting” when he fell ill.

And the Jews fast during the “Yom Kippur” with sunset, until the same date of the next day approximately (25 continuous hours).
