A frightening series of murders from New York may have been solved after more than ten years! The case: At the end of 2010, the remains of several young women were discovered on Gilgo Beach on Long Island. The police are sure: It is a serial killer. The suspected perpetrator has finally been caught. He was transferred by a simple trick.

The series of murders at Gilgo Beach caused horror in the USA – now the New York architect and family man Rex H. has to answer for the killing of at least three women. His victims: Melissa Barthelemy (24), Amber Lynn Costello (27) and Megan Waterman (22). All three women disappeared one by one – their remains were found near Gilgo Beach.
These cases showed some similarities: All three victims were sex workers with a petite build. In addition, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, all the women were tied at the head, waist and legs with camouflage sacking.

American media reported on the latest developments in the case and the arrest. It is said that the suspect was targeted by the investigators in early 2022. Rex H. was first observed and then suspected, among other things, on the basis of mobile phone data and credit card statements. In addition, investigators secretly collected a DNA sample from Rex H. – from a discarded pizza box!

This is how the case finally came to a possible breakthrough: Because when examining the skeletal remains of one of the victims, the Suffolk County Crime Laboratory found a male hair on the sackcloth in which the killer wrapped the body of the corpse, according to the bail application.
A DNA comparison finally brought certainty. In addition, hair that probably comes from Rex’s wife was found near the three murder victims, according to the prosecutor. According to the investigation, however, she was outside of New York State with her children at the time of the murder.
