The Consequences of Bringing Tobacco-Free Snus into Norway: An Important Warning from Customs

– If we stop someone with such boxes, it will be reported, says section manager Kjersti Bråthen at the Customs Department in Kongsvinger to Glåmdalen.

We are talking about so-called white snus, i.e. snus with nicotine, but without tobacco.

In Norway, new nicotine products are not permitted, so the white snus sold in this country contains a small amount of tobacco, according to The pocket doctor.

In Sweden, however, it is legal to both sell and use tobacco-free snus, so many may certainly be tempted to take a few boxes with them to Norway.

This is therefore not a good idea, according to the head of customs, who points out that since the goods are illegal, a notice is not given, but reported.

– It can have major consequences even for small amounts, Bråthen adds newspaper.

You can of course buy regular snuff, but remember that the government halved the tobacco quota from New Year’s.
