O Tinder is a popular app that aims to connect people who want a romantic or even just a sexual relationship. However, recent research has revealed that about 65,3% of users they `re married or are in a relationship, while 50.3% have no interest to make an appointment.
The ages of the 1400 people interviewed ranged from 18 and 24 years old, with a questionnaire about your main motivations for being on the app. The result was that most users use Tinder as a social network or with no real interest in relating.
The news channel Sky News believes that Tinder has become a form of entertainment and increased self-esteem for people who use it.
Criticism of Tinder’s algorithm system
The YouTube channel called “Tropia” published a video in which he criticizes the algorithm of Tinder and its real intention. The critical reflection of the content revolves around the fact that, if someone actually finds their match in the application, the need of use would cease to exist.
Within this system, the user need to keep stuck to the platform to consume the advertising content present, among other paid functions, therefore need to be single or not really wanting a relationship.

Both Sky News’ and Tropia’s assumptions are reaffirmed by testimonials from Tinder users on other social networks. It is common to see them say, for example, that they are on the platform just for engagement, to increase their self-esteem or their own ego.
