Reasons for sale

Ford Focus 2 pre-styling 2007, 1.8 mechanics was fully serviced, all rusty elements were changed. Cars have become very expensive to maintain. Since I like everything to work and not knock anywhere, and taking into account the increase in the cost of consumables, a month of service in the last year of operation cost 8000 R excluding fuel. Plus, the salary allowed me to buy something fresher, plus in the north in winter, a car of this brand is not entirely practical: you won’t drive everywhere, not every yard is cleaned and you can’t park everywhere.

Preparation

I took it to a complex car wash, in general, that’s all. Any aggressive attempt to hide the flaws of the old car is easily detected (as I thought at the time).

Selling method

Everything is trite, I put it on “Avito”, the price tag put up the average for the market, indicated the possibility of bargaining.

Buyer

The sale took place in ten days, six people watched. Basically, they looked at it as the first car, they came with an “experienced” friend, one of them grabbed a thickness gauge. Bargaining was, the calculation in the cabin of the car for cash.

A deal

The deal went smoothly, however, two days later, the buyers’ fuel pump died. They called, clarified where it was serviced, but without any complaints – the breakdown was unpredictable, perhaps the wrong fuel was poured somewhere. The bargaining at the hood amounted to 20,000 R. The total amount was 310,000 R. The money was spent on a pick-up truck, a loan was taken, added to this money, another car was purchased.

Difficulties and tips

A couple of months before the sale, I changed the valve cover gasket, as the oil ended up in the engine compartment. I decided not to clean it, but to honestly explain the situation, since this is not critical, and cleaning the engine compartment would be too suspicious. However, the presence of such a screaming symptom probably put off previous buyers. They did not really believe that I deliberately did not hide traces of oil. So it probably made sense to clean everything up. However, first impressions happen only once.
