It’s a first. For two weeks, a dozen young people, adults and minors, in reintegration participate in a social integration project at the Geric shopping center in Thionville. This “discovery” project, set up by Fabrice O’Brien (Capeb Moselle), brings together various partners: the local Mission of Thionville, the Carrefour Geric shopping center, the Afpa, the Second Chance School and the association class-16-18. Business manager invested in the reintegration of young people, sponsor of the Local Mission, Fabrice O’Brien explains: “We work in a former restaurant in the shopping mall. The furniture must be removed, dismantled and evacuated, before the cell is repaired. In complete safety, this site allows young people to approach the building trades in order to then put them in touch with companies that need arms. And offer them contracts. »
They will be paid, trained in painting and decoration, followed by tutors and finally evaluated. “The idea is really to put them in a situation on a construction site and to accompany them towards employment”, insists the initiator of the project. Once renovated, the shopping center cell can be re-let.
