Valley Sectional Red Cross and Telepacífico Join Forces for ‘Great Blood Donation’ Event in Santiago de Cali

Santiago de Cali, July 13, 2023. The Valley Sectional Red Cross will hold this Saturday, July 15, the ‘Great Blood Donation’, which seeks to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood and platelets, and thus help save lives in the region. On this occasion it will have as a special ally the regional channel Telepacífico that will broadcast the event.

“We are aware of the great need for blood and its components in the region, to attend to the multiple health situations that require this vital liquid, it is for this reason that Telepacífico joins the Cruz Roja Valle and through the programs, the content grid and social networks, we seek to mobilize all people to this great journey that seeks to meet 100% of the demand for blood in Valle del Cauca”, explained Ricardo Bermúdez Cerón, manager of Telepacífico.

The event will take place from 8:00 in the morning to 7:00 at night in the new donation room of the Valle Roja headquarters, at Carrera 38 bis 5-91 San Fernando. In addition, a donation point will be located in the Único Shopping Center and in the Premier Limonar Shopping Center.

“Donating blood and platelets is an act of generosity that can make the difference between life and death for many people. Your donation can provide hope and a chance at life to those who need it most,” said Fabiola Pineda de Villegas, president of the Valle Roja Cross.

Requirements to donate:

– Be over 18 years of age and under 65 years of age.
– Weigh more than 50 kilograms.
– Not having had tattoos or piercings in the last 6 months.
– Present Citizenship Card
