Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Several people were injured in a fire in a high-rise building in Freiburg. A total of 18 people suspected of smoke poisoning were treated by the emergency services late Thursday evening, the fire department said. According to the police, three people were injured and two of them were taken to the hospital.
Two men and two women with two small children were rescued from their homes using ladders. A parked shopping cart caught fire in a hallway of the building, causing heavy smoke. All three apartments on this floor were no longer habitable. The residents were housed by the police. The authorities estimate the property damage in the six-digit range.
