FIFA to Pay $209 Million to Clubs for Sending Players to 2022 World Cup in Qatar

The International Football Association (FIFA) will pay $209 million to clubs that send their players to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

440 clubs from 52 countries will receive compensation. Most of the money will go to Manchester City – about 4.6 million dollars. Next – Barcelona with almost 4.5 million, Bayern Munich with 4.3 million and others.

Clubs from England will receive the most compensation (total amount of $37.7 million). This is followed by Spain, Germany, Italy and France.

According to FIFA rules, clubs receive $10,950 for each day of their player in the World Cup, regardless of playing time. At the 2018 World Cup, teams were paid $8,530 a day for each player.
