Wang Yi said that this year, China and Vietnam took the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership as an opportunity to carry out intensive high-level interactions. The two sides reaffirmed the importance and priority of China-Vietnam relations in their respective foreign policies, and emphasized the need to strengthen the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, which has enriched the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership under the new situation. China is willing to strengthen strategic communication with Vietnam, consolidate strategic mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote people-to-people bonds, so that people of the two countries, especially the younger generation, can participate more in China-Vietnam friendly cooperation.
Wang Yi said that China and Vietnam are both socialist countries led by the Communist Party, with the same political direction, highly complementary economies and broad prospects for cooperation. The two sides should join hands to take their respective paths of modernization, strengthen the docking of development strategies, promote the interconnection of infrastructure, especially the eastern line of the Trans-Asian Railway, and enhance the level of trade and investment facilitation. China is willing to import more marketable Vietnamese products, and Vietnam is welcome to actively participate in the China-ASEAN Expo and the China International Import Expo.
Wang Yi emphasized that the two sides should follow the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties on properly handling maritime issues, take active actions, pay more attention to mutually beneficial cooperation, give full play to the role of existing mechanisms, manage the situation well, and promote cooperation well, so as to serve the The development of Sino-Vietnamese relations provides stable expectations. China is willing to work with ASEAN countries including Vietnam to promote the early conclusion of the “Code of Conduct in the South China Sea”.
Bui Thanh Son said that the Vietnamese side spoke highly of the achievements of the development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and China, and looked forward to closer high-level exchanges between the two sides, strengthening high-level strategic dialogues, and effectively implementing the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties. We will work together with China to jointly build the “Belt and Road” with high quality, and continue to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China. Hope to expand exports to China, and will actively participate in the China-ASEAN Expo and China International Import Expo. We are willing to properly handle maritime issues.
The two sides also exchanged views on strengthening regional cooperation, emphasizing that they will work together to guard against all kinds of interference and push China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
