Attorney for the accused case BTS corruption Kominfo Irwan Hermawan, Maqdir Ismail, fulfilled the Attorney General’s (Kejagung) summons. He came to return Rp. 27 billion related to the BTS case that was billed by the Attorney General’s Office.

Maqdir said he was carrying USD 1.8 million in cash. The money is said to have been returned by the party related to the BTS case to his client. He hoped the refund would shed light on the case.

“Our commitment is on behalf of our client, the amount of money we brought was USD 1.8 million. We will hand over this money on behalf of Irwan to recover what he has received. As this commitment we bring, hopefully this will give clear, further clarifies the position of our client Irwan in this case,” said Maqdir Ismail.
“This source is on behalf of Mr. Irwan. Later, when it’s finished, we will talk from above,” he added.
Previously, Maqdir claimed that someone returned Rp. 27 billion to Irwan. Maqdir mentioned the person who promised to end the BTS Kominfo corruption case.
“Someone has handed it over to us (Rp 27 billion), today this morning,” said Maqdir after a hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (4/7).
“As far as I’ve heard, someone has promised to remove this case to stop it,” he continued.
Maqdir declined to say who returned the money. Maqdir said the money received from that person would be returned to the Attorney General’s Office.
Maqdir said the Rp 27 billion handed over was in cash. The money is in foreign currency.
“Yes (Rp 27 billion). Cash. Foreign currency,” said Maqdir.
The AGO then summoned Maqdir. The AGO asked Maqdir to bring back the Rp. 27 billion that Maqdir claimed was returned by the party related to the case BTS corruption to Irwan.
“During the examination later, the investigation team asked Maqdir Ismail to bring in Rp. 27 billion in cash as he stated in the media to clarify the case which is currently in the process of investigation and rolling in court related to the flow of funds,” said the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum). ) The Attorney General’s Office Ketut Sumedana in a written press statement, Friday (7/7).
