To provide personalized and comprehensive assistance to donors seeking to help children and youth in Mexico on issues of child labor, exploitation, lack of education, among others, World Vision Mexico, in conjunction with IBM Watson, They developed a virtual assistant, which will have virtual intelligence to help and answer questions.
Bob will be the new virtual assistant that will attend to the doubts of all the people who want to donate to the foundation or register as godparents to accompany and provide for the life of a minor with limited resources in a vulnerable situation and will work on the organization’s website and 24 hours a day, the seven days a week on WhatsApp.
With Bob, anyone interested in the work of World Vision Mexico will be able to learn about all the programs that the organization manages, make donations and request accountability and ensure the transparency of the institution’s processes. “Make each donor aware of transparent accountability”, WVM said.
“WVM seeks to offer personalized attention through alternative channels that are in accordance with their interests, which will allow you to reach a wider audience and continue to make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most”, commented the institution at the launch of Bob.
In addition, WVM indicated that in the months of testing, Bob has served more than two thousand 500 donors with a two-minute attention time; he 39 percent of the conversations he has had have been during non-working hours, which has allowed personalized and instant attention to be provided to each donor.
“We are very grateful to IBM and NDS Cognitive Labs for making Bob a reality,” said Javier Ruiz Gaitán, general director of World Vision Mexico and Spain, and explained that Bob the Virtual Assistant is in honor of Bob Pierce, who founded World Vision over 70 years ago.so it is the past and future of the organization.
Ruiz Gaitán explained that with Bob “we seek to bring the new generations closer to being interested in the culture of donation to transform the lives of thousands of girls and boys in vulnerable situations to generate a greater impact” and affirmed that the combination of humanitarian aid for children and technology is possible.
“This is an example of how Artificial intelligence is at the service of a social problem”, commented the general director of WVM and stressed that it is also an example of collaboration with the technological ecosystem to promote digital solutions with the help of allies, which benefit the organization.
