Xbox already has a decent censorship when it comes to online harassment and toxic comments, but so far this has been limited to text. Fortunately, this is about to change.
Xbox Wire revealed,Xbox Insiders Coming soon is a new feature that will make it easy to report abusive and toxic players even if they are using voice chat. Microsoft explains that this allows Xbox gamers to “Able to capture 60-second video clips of in-game voice incidents they believe violate our community standards and submit them as evidence to our Xbox security team for review”. .
Xbox Gamer Secret Asia29 says:
“Xbox is once again leading the way in player experience. By taking action to reduce toxicity that is often hard to track, gamers of all ages, genders and backgrounds can be confident that Xbox has their back.
Another Xbox gamer named CamicaziBoss added:
“As a woman online, I often find myself silencing myself in online multiplayer games to avoid abuse and harassment. I’m excited about features like this that speak to people like me getting a voice back. No one should because of Afraid to talk and miss interacting with other gamers.
Initially this will be English only, but Microsoft has confirmed that more languages are coming. Typically, it takes about two months from the time a new feature is available to Xbox Insiders to its official release, so sometimes this new tool rolls out in the fall.
