– Sad when someone who should be good in traffic drives like that. Here it was just luck that it went well, says a BA tipster who has shared the video with BA.
The tipster drove over Danmarks plass in the direction of Åsane on Tuesday evening.
At the intersection, the lorry was in the lane next to him, the lane that goes towards the city centre, while they waited for the green light.
– I didn’t understand anything when he suddenly sped off to get two cars to the front.
In the video, you can see that the lorry is in the lane towards the city centre, before he pulls past two cars and turns onto the exit ramp towards Åsane.
It appears that the black car slows down sharply, and partially veers into the field in the direction of Jekteviken.
– Could have disastrous consequences
– This appears to be a frightening overtaking that could quickly go wrong, says Cecilie Bryner to BA.
She is communications manager at Trygg Trafikk, an organization concerned with safety in the transport sector and traffic safety.
She got to see the video of the overtaking on Wednesday, and is reacting.
– Driving straight in front of a passenger car with as much speed and weight as a lorry could have disastrous consequences, says Bryner.
