He solid shampoo or in a stick has gained popularity in recent times thanks to the fact that it does not need packaging or plastic wrappers and that it is usually made with ingredients that are less aggressive for the scalp and the environment.
There is a very simple formula that can be adapted according to each type of hair and combined with flores and herbs from our own harvest to add the personal, gardening and organic touch that our hair deserves.
Eleonora Dubini, in her book SIlvestre, brings together some basic magisterial formulas, such as that of solid shampoo that can be done at home.
To make a solid shampoo generic you need:
If you want it to make more foam, use 10% coconut betaine and 5% vegetable oils. If you want it to be more nutritious, do the other way around.
It is necessary to wear gloves, protective glasses and a chinstrap, because the SCI, when handled, releases a dust that can irritate the eyes and lungs.
Procedure to make your own solid shampoo
Weigh all the ingredients.
ICS comes as a powder, pellet, granule, or chunk. If your version is not powdered, process it or melt it in a bain-marie together with the coconut betaine or with the water (if you don’t use coconut betaine).
Combine all the ingredients and knead the preparation until fully integrated.
Add the preservative and knead the preparation one last time.
Shape the shampoo into individual rigid or silicone moulds, pressing well to form a compact consistency. If you want to reinforce the effect, take it for an hour in the freezer or overnight in the fridge.
You can use it right away, but I suggest waiting 24-48 hours for it to harden further and for the preservative to take effect.
If you used ground herbs or flowers, some may loosen during use. So that you don’t get those residues in your hair, put the shampoo inside a canvas bag or another fabric with an open weft.
Wet the hair well. Rub the bar solid shampoo in your damp hands to start building the lather, then run the bar through your hair. A couple of times is enough to generate a very good layer of cleansing foam. Rinse as always.
An herb for every need
To help fight scalp dandruff, you can add mint and rosemary to your solid shampoo.
Nettle leaves stop hair loss in many cases. They improve circulation to the scalp, have a growth-promoting effect, combat dandruff, seborrhea and other disorders.
Las flores chamomile help soothe the scalp and mucous membranes. They have a calming effect on itching and eczema. In addition, chamomile adds shine and slightly lightens the color of the hair. This effect is enhanced if the hair is left to dry in sunlight.
In natural medicine, the flores from linden are used to soothe irritated scalp and reduce oiliness in the hair.
you can also add flores ground lavender, roses or jasmine to your solid shampoo to add your personal touch and aroma.
