Jakarta –
Allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev said that the increase in military assistance to Ukraine by the NATO alliance has brought the Third World War ever closer.
Reported by the news agency ReutersWednesday (12/7/2023), commenting on the first day of the Summit NATO in Lithuania, where a number of countries have promised more arms and financial support, Medvedev said the aid would not get in the way Russia to achieve its goals in Ukraine.
“The completely mad West cannot come up with anything else… In fact, it is a dead end. The Third World War is approaching,” Medvedev wrote on the messaging app Telegram.

“What does all this mean for us? Everything is clear. Special military operations will continue with the same goal,” added the former Russian president who is now Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
It learned that the Russian government was calling its actions in Ukraine a “special military operation”, while Ukraine and its allies say Moscow is waging a senseless war to seize territory and dominate its neighbour.
The West has said it wants to help Ukraine win the war, and Western powers have supplied Ukraine with large quantities of modern weapons and ammunition.
Medvedev, who presented himself as a liberal modernizer when he was president from 2008-2012, now presents himself as a very anti-Western Kremlin figure. Diplomats say his views are indicative of thinking at the top levels of the Kremlin elite.
