In Châtellerault, a truck driver is suspected of having stolen the equivalent of €30,000 worth of fuel from his company. We will explain everything to you.
Times are tough for everyone, and it’s been going on for a while now. Indeed, for more than a year, the price of fuel has skyrocketed, to such an extent that a liter of gasoline and diesel very often flirts with two euros, or even exceeds them. Some schools have decided to set up promotional offers for motorists, but this does not seem to be enough. Result, flights are increasing, especially in goods transport companies, where many vehicles are stored with full tanks. But in many cases, it ends badly for thieves.
Many service stations have experienced stockouts, due to the 30 cent discount on the price of fuel.

A heavy damage
It is often thought that the thugs are external to the companies affected. And truth be told, it usually is. But sometimes the culprit is an employee of the company. This is precisely the case of the case we are talking about today, which is unusual to say the least. This takes place at the end of June. The gendarmes of the motorized platoon of Châtellerault arrest a truck driver. The latter is suspected of having stolen for €30,000 worth of fuel to his employer. And his little carousel was very well run, which allowed him to save a lot of money.
A real strategy
The driver was indeed refueling his truck, and then took a small part for his personal vehicles. But this fuel which thus evaporated in nature aroused the suspicions of his boss, who contacted the police. The latter carried out a search and seized several items, including a motorhome, a Peugeot 205 GTI as well as an Audi and a quad. The driver was meanwhile placed in custody then left free. He will soon be summoned to court.
