Former Q-Games and Chuhai Labs Developers Launch New Denkiworks Studio in Kyoto with First Game in Development

Former developers from Q-Games and Chuhai Labs announced the creation of a new Denkiworks studio headquartered in Kyoto:

What is known

The team consists of three co-founders: Liam Edwards, Taku Arioka and Jan de Graa. The newly minted studio has already started developing its first game, codenamed Project Tanuki.

The three co-founders of Denkiworks have previously collaborated on Pixeljunk Scrappers. Liam Edwards then left the team to work on his new game Cursed to Golf. Now the trio have teamed up again with the goal of creating indie games that combine elements of eastern and western cultures.

“We’re thrilled to finally reveal Denkiworks. We’ve been hard at work on our first title, inspired by our experience of living in Japan from an expat and native perspective. Basically, it’s a love letter to this country and its beautiful culture,” says Edwards.
