The Continuing Issues with Jenius: Unresolved Funds and Customer Concerns

Still remember the case of loss of customer money genius up to IDR 7.5 million? Now, BTPN already returned the money, but apparently the problem has not been resolved.

Last night, the Jenius customer, Firdaus Ariefatosa, found that Rp. 2.3 million had come out of his savings account.

“The writing on the history only says ‘outgoing transaction of Rp. 2.3 million’, usually there is an explanation for what the transaction is for,” said the man who is familiarly called Tosa. detikcomTuesday (11/7/2023).

That same night Tosa contacted customer service to find answers. But unfortunately, he was asked to contact Jenius again tomorrow morning because it was too late.

“Even though it’s a 24-hour service. So in the morning I called again, their explanation was that the money out was still related to refunds for previous transactions, so it’s still related,” he said.

But Tosa felt strange, why in the process of returning funds to the account, money had to come out of the account first. He also felt that it was no longer safe to keep his funds at Jenius and decided to withdraw all of his funds.

“Finally I withdrew all the funds there, now the balance is zero. But actually I am still in a minus because I still lack the Rp. 2.3 million that came out earlier,” he said.

Until now, Tosa admits that he is still waiting for further explanation from BTPN regarding the funds that have not been fully returned.

Contacted separately, Bank BTPN’s Communications & Daya Head, Andrie Darusman, said he would check the problem internally. Because according to him the problem experienced by the customer should have been resolved.

“We need to check again, yes, because the last thing is that all the money that has been issued has been returned and the case has been closed and has been closed. In that case, we need another internal check, so we need to see the latest data,” he said to detikcom.

As is known, Tosa previously told that on July 5, the funds in his Jenius account suddenly decreased by Rp. 7.5 million. He said, on his cell phone a transaction notification of IDR 2.4 million appeared and 2 minutes later a transaction of IDR 5.1 million appeared. It also includes screenshots of proof of the transaction.

“I immediately opened the Jenius application to immediately block my card,” he was quoted as saying detikcomMonday (10/7/2023).

He then checked his transaction history. He said there were two consecutive transactions using his m-card at Walmart.com Bentoville with a value of US$ 156.01 and US$ 333.87 respectively.

“Because I never made this transaction, I called Jenius CS at 1500365 and asked to permanently block my card so that an investigation could be carried out. As a result, I made a report number which I received via SMS, and also email,” he wrote.
